RideBack User Reviews:
Ogata Rin is the daughter of a famous ballet dancer. She follows in her mother's steps until a
accident injury during a performance cuts her career short while still in high school. Now in college,
she finds herself drawn into the RideBack club, which centers around the use of Rideback Machines:
part motorcycle, part robot. The RideBacks are part of a violent history involving a past war and she finds
herself being dragged deeper into this world.
The opening episode is very gripping and full of promise. The animation is crisp and engaging.
The RideBack are an interesting concept, and the combination of the ballet movements with
these adaptable machines is intriguing. However, as the story progresses, it loses its initial promise
as plot twists really force you to suspend disbelief as events become more and more improbable. More explanation is
required for the underlying terrorist story to be satisfiying then is actually presented. However, there
are many exciting scenes throughout the series and it is enjoyable overall. It is definitely worth watching, although
far short of a classic as it had the potential to be.
