The game follows the story of George Stobbart, an unsuspecting American on holiday in Paris. While sitting outside a charming little cafe, he witnesses the theft of an ancient manuscript and the brutal assassination of its keeper by a bizarre looking clown. George barely escapes with his own life as a huge explosion blasts the front of the café clean away. The manuscript dates back to the 14th century, created by the mysterious order of the Knights Templar and points to where their legendary power has been hidden for over six hundred years. Through his own intrepid investigations and those of his newly found friend, Nicole Collard, George uncovers the evil plot of the manuscript's new owners who intend to harness the power to change the fate of mankind.
